Hemp cigarettes may be one of the best ways to enjoy your CBD benefits, thanks to their high bioavailability and reputation for kicking in fast.
And thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp bans are lifting throughout the United States, but a few are making an exception for smokable hemp and hemp cigarettes. This occurs more in states with strict cannabis laws, where law makers and enforcement are worried that if smokable hemp is legal, cannabis is de facto legal, as well.
So what’s the case for the state of Pennsylvania, where medical cannabis is allowed?

Benefits and Uses of Hemp Cigarettes
While hemp shares some physical characteristics with cannabis, they do have one distinction: unlike weed, hemp won’t get you high since it possesses significantly less THC.
However, hemp is rich in cannabidiol, or CBD, among several other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, which many a rapidly growing number of individuals are beginning to turn to in order to relieve their pain, anxiety and lack of sleep.
Additionally, growing research suggests that it possesses components that make it a strong candidate for soothing chronic pain.
Now, while it should be clarified that inhaling any kind of plant matter may pose health risks, hemp cigarettes are a non-carcinogenic, nicotine-free alternative to tobacco products. Plus, the lack of nicotine in hemp cigarettes makes them non-addictive and has even helped individuals quit smoking.
For instance, research from a blind study at University College London showed that nicotine-dependent subjects who were given CBD reduced cigarette usage by 40%, while those who took placebos noticed no difference.
Plus, you’re still getting the same benefits of CBD and terpenes that you’d enjoy from any other CBD product, but more quickly and without the digestion process of tinctures or edibles.
Is It Legal To Buy Hemp Cigarettes in Pennsylvania?
So now you’re probably wondering: are hemp cigarettes legal in the state of Pennsylvania?
Yes!
In alignment with the 2018 Farm Bill, smokable hemp flower is legal in Pennsylvania, and industrial hemp has been identified as Cannabis sativa L. and any other part of the plant, growing or otherwise, with a delta-9 THC content of less than 0.3% on a dry-weight basis.
As for the sale of hemp flower, there are no explicit bans, and as a result, it’s legal to sell.
In order to grow industrial hemp, farmers must be licensed by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Agriculture. Licenses cost $600 per year for up to 5 locations, and they will not be granted to anyone convicted of a drug felony 10 years prior to application.
Inspectors are permitted to visit farms and choose any plants to test. Plants with a content of more than 0.3% THC may be destroyed.
Processors, meanwhile, are required to have a license, unless they’re processing hemp-derived CBD into food products. In which case, processors will need to register with the state’s Bureau of Food Safety. These processors will also need to be licensed as a food establishment.
There is no possession limit for smokable hemp flower.

Attentive Craftsmanship & Customer Service
Most brands will just fill their cigs with hemp flower, and while we think this is perfectly fine, we thought we could do better.
That’s we fill our cigarettes with premium hemp flower and kief.
Known for its appearance and consistency of an ultra-fine, lightweight dust, kief comes from the resinous trichomes found in hemp, and are loaded with terps and cannabinoids.
The kief in hemp flower is made up of the resinous glands that house the CBD and terpenes, so sifting together just a pinch can transform your hemp smoking experience.
On top of that, our hemp cigarettes are nicotine and tobacco-free, making them a popular alternative to traditional cigarettes.
Last but not least, we have unbeatable customer service. Here are some of our reviews from real customers:
“Love this company and every one of their products!! Amazing quality products and great customer service/updates on orders.”
“Good stuff and excellent customer service as well. The total package!”

Proof in the Results: Terpenes in Mr. Hemp Flower CBD Cigarettes
When it comes to enjoying whole hemp flower, one of the biggest appeals is the full-spectrum content. In other words, it’s chock full of all of its naturally-occurring components, including CBD, CBG, and a wide variety of beneficial, aromatic terpenes.
But not all hemp strains are made equal, and let’s be honest: not all hemp cigarette brands put in the care and attention that’s worthy of our customers.
That’s why our CBD Cigarettes are made only with US-grown hemp, which is grown exclusively by experienced farmers throughout Colorado, Washington State, and Oregon, making for a smoke break primed for promoting the entourage effect.
On our site, we have all of our certificates of analysis fully accessible, and you can see our lab tests for hemp cigs here.
Alpha-Bisabolol-1.31 mg/g (.13%)
Alpha-bisabolol’s known for its delicate, floral fragrance. But more importantly, studies have shown this terpene to have analgesic and antioxidant properties, just to name a few.
One 2014 study also showed that alpha-bisabolol possesses anti-inflammatory properties, as well, which has garnered its interest in chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Guaiol-1.02 mg/g (.10%)
Guaiol is a terpene known for its woodsy, clean, sometimes “rosy” scent, and while plants with high levels of it have been used in traditional medicine for years, the research is still fairly new. That being said, most of the evidence points to guaiol’s potential for combating pain, like this 2010 study.
Beta-Pinene-.626 mg/g (.06%)
Beta pinene has an especially piney fragrance, and while it, too, has evidence of working well against pain symptoms, beta-pinene also acts as an expectorant, meaning that it helps promote the clearing of air passageways to help treat coughs.
Trans-Caryophyllene .464 mg/g (.05%)
Found in hops, rosemary, and cloves, caryophyllene has actually been researched for longer than many other terpenes, and has been shown to act as a neuroprotective agent by interacting with the CB1 and CB2 receptors to bring down inflammation.
