Also known as “weed lite,” delta 8 is a sister molecule to the primary intoxicating hemp cannabinoid — delta 9 THC (or THC).
Despite having an almost identical chemical structure, the difference between D8 and D9 is in the location of their double bond. Researchers contribute the potential intoxicating effects of THCs to their double bond. The D8 isomer has its double bond at the 8th carbon atom, while D9 at the 9th.
