The new law doesn’t require retailers and manufacturers of hemp CBD products to obtain a license. Under the law, any manufactured product containing cannabidiol shall include a label, which contains:
- The country of origin of the cannabidiol; and
- Whether the cannabidiol is synthetic or natural.
In Oklahoma, “The addition of derivatives of hemp, including hemp-derived cannabidiol, to cosmetics, personal care products and products intended for human or animal consumption shall be permitted without a license and shall not be considered an adulteration of such products.”
Hemp CBD products approved by the Food and Drug Administration do not fall under these provisions. Furthermore, the hemp or hemp CBD products sold or manufactured in this state must be grown from legal hemp cultivated in Oklahoma. If from another state, it must meet the same or substantially the same requirements for growing hemp or processing hemp products.
