This Southern state regulated food, edibles, beverages, and smokable hemp products. According to the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, starting August 1, 2021, hemp flower and smokable products can be sold in the state only after getting label approval from the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH).
The state passed new laws which redefined CBD as “consumable hemp” or “any product derived from industrial hemp that contains any cannabinoids and is intended for consumption or topical use.”
In Louisiana, food, edibles, and beverages derived from hemp can be legally sold if registered and approved with the LDH.
