The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates the manufacture and sale of hemp-derived CBD products on a federal level.
Currently, the FDA is investigating the effects of hemp CBD on the human body, which encompasses a range of hemp CBD products. While hemp CBD is not allowed to be marketed and sold as food or dietary supplement — or under medical claims — smokable hemp remains unregulated on a federal level.
