ˌtərp-ˈsȯs | Noun
It’s a strong-flavored terpene blend that falls under the solvent concentrates category. The goal of terp sauce is to let major cannabinoids form crystals and separate them from the terpenes. This concentrate preserves the terpene profile of the cannabis plant more than any other. It’s also known for its scientific name of High Terpene Full Spectrum Extract (HTFSE). It contains at least 13% terpenes and 45% to 70% cannabinoid content. It can be mixed with any cannabis extract.
“If you like flavor-intense hemp concentrates, try terp sauce.”
“Terp sauce is one of the most potent and top-quality cannabis extracts on the market.”
What is Sauce?
It’s the term used to describe the most flavorful cannabis extracts that contain large amounts of terpenes. Sauce extracts don’t have a uniform texture. They are sticky and liquid, something like juice or marmalade. They can be thick, thin, or gritty and even look like large diamonds floating in golden syrup. This term refers to the texture, color, appearance, and malleability, but not the concentrate’s quality.
What Are Terpenes?
Terpenes are the aromatic compounds in cannabis that give the plant its unique flavor and aroma. These compounds are present in all plant life and provide anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant effects. In cannabis, they are present in the flower’s trichomes or resin glands, which also produce cannabinoids.
How is it made?
It’s made using flash-frozen cannabis (marijuana or hemp) buds — the starting material also used to make live resin. But make no mistake, this concentrate is not live resin. Live resin has higher than normal amounts of terpenes, but not as high as terp sauce. Also, live resin doesn’t feature any of the crystallized structures found in sauce.
Processors use fresh, top-quality hemp or marijuana buds to make this extract. After initial extraction, the extract is left to form crystals, a process during which terpenes and cannabinoids separate.
At stores, this concentrate sometimes comes packaged in vape cartridges called sauce carts. If you ever want to buy, make sure you’re getting the actual terp sauce, instead of a semi-liquid cannabis concentrate marketed under the name “sauce” or “juice.”
As one of the most potent cannabis concentrates, this extract gives users a true taste of cannabis terpenes.
