What’s The Legality of The Novel Delta-10 THC Cannabinoid in Tennessee

Delta 10 Tennessee

Tennessee’s shops are filled with new and exciting hemp extracts, like Delta-10 THC. If you love novel hemp cannabinoid products, you might be wondering if D-10 is legal in the Volunteer State. Is Delta-10 legal in Tennessee? If so, where to buy safe, pure, and potent Delta-10 THC?

Is It Legal: Tennessee Delta-10 THC Laws

The short and simple answer is

YES

Delta-10 THC is LEGAL in Tennessee.

What Is Delta-10 THC?

Delta-10 tetrahydrocannabinol (D-10 THC) is a semi-synthetic hemp derivative. It occurs in extremely low concentrations in the early stages of plant growth, making natural extraction impossible. Therefore, chemists use hemp-derived cannabinoids as primary molecules to process D-10 THC which makes the compound semi-synthetic.

So far, this is the least researched cannabinoid that’s appeared on the market. There is practically no evidence-based info on Delta-10. But, we do know that it’s a safe compound (if produced properly) that features a mild and relaxing “high.” Most seasoned users describe its effects as the middle ground between Delta-8 THC and cannabinol (CBN).

Buy Delta-10 THC in Tennessee NOW

You can find D-10 products across most CBD shops, smoke shops, convenience stores, and gas stations in the Volunteer State. But, not all of them are safe and quality. Doing background checks on the brand is very important when ordering D-10 THC. Like with products containing Delta-8 THC and CBD, Delta-10 should be tested by a state-registered, third-party lab.

Mr. Hemp Flower works only with certified cannabis labs to test each product we make. We manufacture our own products, so buying from us means buying directly from the maker.

D-10 is a novel substance that appears in many untested products on the market. What we know so far is that the processing of this substance requires knowledge, experience, and proper equipment. Not every brand has the resources to offer pure, safe, and quality D-10 extract.

So, you should be suspicious of each brand that offers D-10 without any lab tests. The brand offering it has no excuse as to why they don’t offer a detailed and verified Certificate of Analysis with the product.

Mr. Hemp Flower is an established brand in the world of hemp cannabinoids. From the beginning, we’ve put a lot of emphasis on how we produce all our products. We pay attention to every detail, use organic, USA-grown hemp from local farmers, and offer lab reports performed by a third-party lab for each item. To protect yourself from consuming a fake D-10 product, buy online and directly from an established maker.

Continued, Is Delta-10 THC Legal in Tennessee?

Hemp-derived Delta-10 THC is LEGAL in Tennessee.

Tennessee doesn’t explicitly prohibit the distribution and sale of D-10 THC. Because D-10 is hemp-derived, its distribution and sale likely falls under the state’s hemp regulatory framework.

The Volunteer State updated its hemp legislation to match federal law and the 2018 Farm Bill. The state allows the manufacture, distribution, and sale of hemp and all hemp derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers if derived from hemp material containing less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.

The state also removed hemp from its Controlled Substances Act, which means that hemp-derived D-10 is not a prohibited substance in Tennessee. The Volunteer State doesn’t have a medical or recreational marijuana program in place. It does punish illegal possession of cannabis by a misdemeanor, which may include up to one year in jail and a fine.

Delta-10 THC and Federal Law

The legal status of Delta-10 THC on a federal level depends on whether it’s considered a natural or synthetic tetrahydrocannabinol.

This mildly psychotropic hemp derivative is theoretically legal under federal law. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the hemp plant and all its derivatives as long as they don’t contain more than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.

As you may know, D-10 is not naturally derived, but made in a lab using unique processes and catalysts. While D-8 is created via the straightforward process of isomerization (conversion), D-10 requires special conditions to be produced.

Chemists take hemp CBD or Delta-9 THC derived from hemp and use chemicals to effectively convert the cannabinoids into D-10 THC. This makes D-10 a more synthetic cannabinoid. There are methods to effectively isomerize this cannabinoid using food-grade procedures, but not every manufacturer possesses products made via this process.

Because D-10 is processed more heavily with the use of catalysts, chances are higher for it to be considered “synthetic” by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Technically, this hemp derivative exists in a gray area because it’s isomerized using hemp-derived cannabinoids.

But, that’s no guarantee for its legal status. In its 2020 Interim Final Rule, the DEA stated that all synthetically derived tetrahydrocannabinols are illegal. The levels of Delta-9 THC contained in a product infused with “synthetic” compounds doesn’t matter because they are deemed illegal nonetheless. In addition, the report stated that the 2018 Farm Bill did not impact the legal status of synthetically derived tetrahydrocannabinols.

For now, the sale and distribution of Delta-10 THC products is not explicitly banned under any law. Is this compound fully synthetic? No, it’s not because synthetic tetrahydrocannabinols exhibit intense, life-threatening effects none of which has been shown by D-10 THC. But, it’s also not a natural cannabinoid. So, it exists somewhere in the grayest area of the hemp laws.

Bottom line

Interested in buying Delta-10 THC products in Tennessee? You should know that (for now) the state allows the distribution and sale of this compound. Before buying, check the local and state laws and choose an established and reliable brand like Mr. Hemp Flower.
